As time passes our skin shows the natural, inevitable signs of aging - wrinkles,
sagging, sun damage. But you can counteract those effects with several non-surgical
cosmetic procedures available at our practice, including Botox® and injectible
fillers such as collagen and Restylane to smooth lines and wrinkles and raise
sunken areas; chemical peels to reduce blemishes and scarring and produce fresh,
glowing skin; Threadlifts for skin tightening; and sclerotherapy for
the treatment of spider and varicose veins.
Tissue Fillers
Collagen
hyaluronic acid and fat are part of the natural support structure
of the skin. With aging and sun exposure, we lose volume and elasticity
in our face. These fillers replenishes the skin's collagen layer,
smoothing lines, wrinkles and scars, and
adding definition
to lip borders from the inside out.
The latest tissue fillers include Cosmoderm
& Cosmoplast, hyaluronic acids (Restylane, Perlane, Hylaform,
Juvaderm), Radiesse,Sculptra, and Silikon 1000. Depending on the
types of wrinkles or scars, we can discuss the best filler options.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve
the appearance of the skin which is typically performed on the face,
neck, or hands. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied
to the skin that causes it to eventually peel off. The new, regenerated
skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. The
new skin is also temporarily more sensitive to the sun.
Mild scarring and certain types of acne can
also be treated with chemical peels. In addition, pigmentation of
the skin in the form of sun spots, age spots, liver spots, freckles,
splotching due to taking birth control pills, and skin that is dull
in texture and color may be improved with chemical peeling. We offer
a variety of peels depending on the depth of peeling required. Our
new popular peels are BetaLifts, glycolic acid, and TCA peels.

Microdermabrasion
This
quick and convenient procedure is perfect for patients who have skin
that is affected by severe sun exposure, signs of early aging such
as "crow's feet", and other facial imperfections including acne scarring. Microdermabrasion
is a deeper form of exfoliation that removes old, dry, dead cells
from your skin. The process does not require anesthesia and
usually only takes about 30-45 minutes to perform. Since microdermabrasion
is a non-invasive technique, patients experience no down time. Aside
from experiencing facial redness for about an hour after the procedure
is performed , patients can carry on with their day.

Sclerotherapy
Tiny
veins on the legs are often hereditary. They worsen with age and
pregnancy. The best treatment for them is sclerotherapy, which involves
painlessly injecting a solution into the veins to make them disappear
gradually over months.
If any deeper varicose veins are evident on
exam, a doppler study or duplex ultrasound test may be recommended
first. Multiple treatments may be needed. Since some veins may look
temporarily worse after sclerotherapy, autumn is the best time to
start treatment.
